Initial pendants: when your jewelry shows your love.

Celebrity photos are addictive. First, there is the natural voyeurism of wanting to know what they do. Second, most of them are good looking and thus make an attractive image. Third, there is good quality styling work involved, in most cases, making the pictures really inspirational.

The kind I love the most are the daily pictures, where you get celebrities in that mix of “I look natural & really me” with “everything I wear is carefully chosen and has some special meaning”. You can still see the stylists at work but you also get a bit of the true personality behind the public image. Being a jewelry professional, guess what I see first? Hint: not the shoes…

One major (jewelry) trend spotted amongst female celebrities is the initial pendant. Maybe it has something to do with showing the world they also have a real life, populated with real people and real love. Personally, I love the concept of personalized jewelry, that you assemble as time goes by, the concept of “jewelry that tells your story”. So romantic!

initial pendants worn by celebrities

Fashionwise, an initial pendant is the perfect accent to an open shirt, a tank top or even a cocktail dress – like a style chameleon it goes up or down according to what you’re wearing. It fits the spot of a personal talisman and style signifier perfectly!

It is not surprising that many designers have tackled this theme creatively. Here you can find some of my favorites, for inspiration. They exude such different moods, choose the one that better fits your personality. And if your mood fluctuates, why not start a collection?

initial pendants, Jennifer Meyer, Jennifer Zeuner, Jennifer Fisher, Annoushka, Theo Fennel, Elsa Peretti

1. For the classic girls out there the choice is Jennifer Meyer‘s gold and diamond initial pendant.

2. Fashionistas will fall for the swirly 3 initial pendant by Jennifer Zeuner, following the path of Taylor Swift, Blair Eadie and many others.

3. Feeling a bit metaphoric? Your match is Theo Fennel ‘s initial and queen bee charm.

4. Too intelectual for this romantic nonsense? Wait until you’ve seen Elsa Peretti for Tiffany initials … design perfection!

5. Cool bohemian girls with a penchant for traveling will want to take Annoushka‘s Mythology initial pendant along to exotic places.

6. Last but not the least, moms love to show their love with the sexy gothic twist of these initial pendants by Jennifer Fisher!

I think I would go for gothic… feeling a bit dangerous today.

How about you, which one is your favorite? AND, whose initial would you go for?

a. the ego option – yours, of course.

b. the love option – boyfriend/husband’s.

c. the mom option – your kids’, definitely.

I would love to know. Tell me.
